Course Overview
The Architectural Practice Course (APC) aims to prepare and equip candidates for the Professional Practice Examination (PPE). It is a mandatory training programme for candidates enrolling for the Board of Architect's (BOA) PPE. The curriculum is specifically planned and designed to integrate theoretical principles with practice knowledge. The syllabus is based on a cross between the current PPE syllabus and the tutors' real-life experience and knowledge.
What You'll learn
- The course comprises of 20 evening sessions, with four tutorial classes, and is conducted weekly with a total duration of 60 hours.
- Candidates are required to attend all the sessions as each session is designed to prepare and equip them for the PPE.
- This will be conducted via Zoom exceptional to the briefing session.
- Tutorials will be held in person.
- Each learner will attend 4 tutorial sessions. Candidates are to attend 1 session from each tutorial.
Who Should Attend
While APC is customised mainly for PPE candidates, it is also useful and suitable for architects who wish to update and refresh themselves on the latest development in professional knowledge.
Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) and The Architects Academy
The Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) is a professional organization established in 1961 and subsequently registered in 1963 with the objective to promote the architectural profession and the built environment in Singapore. The Institute is the sole representative for architectural profession in Singapore.
The Architects Academy is a subsidiary of SIA. The Academy's objective is to be the bridge for architectural education between the architectural profession and the IHLs. Academy provides courses and training for architects and fresh graduates and in the architecture profession.

Session 20 of APC 2023 will be covered in the briefing session of APC 2024.
Candidates who have purchased the Full Course within the three-year time frame and are interested in attending APC in 2024, or
Candidates who have communicated with TAA in 2022 & 2023 run regarding the postponement of Lectures/Tutorials, you are required to write in to academy@the-architects-academy.com to confirm on the session/sessions you are attending in APC 2024.

BOA Funding Available for PPE Candidates
PPE candidates who fulfill the following conditions will be given a one-time subsidy of S$500/- for the APC. Details to refer to registration form.
- Candidate must be a Singaporean or Singapore Permanent Resident (at the point of application for the examination).
- Candidate is required to attain 75% attendance for the entire course to be eligible for this subsidy and to sit for examination.
- Candidate must pass the examination within 2 consecutive settings.
- Candidate must register for registration as an architect upon passing the examination.
